Five Georgia Groups Receive Federal HIV Grants
May 24, 2004 On Friday, CDC announced HIV prevention grants were awarded to five Georgia organizations. AID Atlanta Inc., AIDS Survival Project, National AIDS Educations and Services for Minorities and Saint Joseph's Mercy Care Services -- all Atlanta groups -- received grants. Decatur, Ga.-based Our Common Welfare Inc. also received CDC money. CDC did not specify how much each organization will receive when the awards are distributed July 1. The grants are part of a $49 million appropriation to community-based organizations as part of national HIV prevention efforts.
