Brazil to Supply Organization of Eastern Caribbean States With Antiretroviral Drugs

April 28, 2006

Denzil Douglas -- prime minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, and Caribbean Community prime minister for human resources, health and HIV/AIDS -- on Thursday was expected to sign a letter of intent that will permit Brazil to supply the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States with antiretroviral drugs over the next five years, Caribbean Net News reports. The signing of the letter -- which is scheduled to take place during the 14th Meeting of CARICOM's Council for Human and Social Development -- follows an April 2005 mission by the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS to Brazil (French, Caribbean Net News, 4/26).
