Iowa: State Health Officials Plan HIV/AIDS Conference
May 30, 2008 "Unity and Diversity: The Challenge for Change" is the theme of an HIV/AIDS conference to be held June 3-4 in Des Moines. Officials say the meeting will seek to bring together health professionals with the goal of translating ideas into effective prevention and treatment strategies for Iowans. Mindy Thompson-Fullilove, a Columbia University research psychiatrist whose work focuses on health disparities, will deliver the keynote address.
