Florida: Alicia Keys Is On a Mission
May 23, 2008 As Alicia Keys releases her latest album, "As I Am," the singer is also working to help raise money for AIDS through Keep A Child Alive. The organization provides medicines, support, and orphan care to families affected by HIV/AIDS, and it has established 14 clinical and orphan care sites in seven countries. Before Sunday's concert in Miami, fans will get to preview Keys' new documentary, "Alicia in Africa: Journey to the Motherland," which is about communities battling HIV/AIDS in South Africa, Kenya, and Uganda. She is also asking fans to make a $5 donation to Keep A Child Alive by texting the word "Alive" to 90999. The film can also be seen online at www.aliciainafrica.com.
