A safe detox?
Aug 3, 2008
My boyfriend and I are very into alternative health. He has been hiv+ for almost 8 years now and his levels have been undetectable almost from day one. We both have slacked off a bit lately on our staying healthy and we would like to do a 15 day detox program to get back on track. The problem is, every detox program I have found has either grapefruit pectin or powdered grapefruit seeds - He is on Kaletra and I know he cant drink grapefruit juice because of that.. will crushed seeds or pectin have the same effect?
Response from Mr. Vergel
I am completely against detox programs for people with HIV. They have not been proven to help at all and they can actually be detrimental to someone's health. I would try to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, yogurt, lots of water, exercise, get fresh air and 20 min of sunshine a day, and meditate/yoga. That is what I call a true detox program!
