I am going crazy!
Aug 28, 2008

Please answer Doctor Horwath.

I posted this question once but please answer my question doctor.

Info: 15 No sexual activity ever and i have not injected drugs Male

My story: Probably 4-6months ago in my class we had sex education which really frightened me, especially about aids. When i searched up the symptoms of aids i wa shocked and quite scared. I ntocied i had many symptoms and am extremely scared to this day aswell. I cant get to sleep at night thinking about having aids and i havenn't enjoyed one day of my summer vacation due to this LIFE DESTROYING VIRUS, i hate it i can't even enjoy myselfat family outtings cause im constantly thinkign about aids.

About a month or 3 weeks ago i told my parents at my fear, they didn't believe me but i convinced them to take me to a doctor, he diagnosed my lymph nodes as shotty lymphnodes and said i had mild excema. I was fine for probably a day then bega to think about HIV again because i hadn't told him about my other fears of my body.

The symptoms i have been having are:

Shotty lymph nodes or lymph nodes have been there since i looked for them which ws a couple of months ago. I can feel lymph nodes under my jaw.

I have excema and i read o nthe internet that everyone with excema has Candida which is another HIV symptom.

I always wake up with a white furry coating on my mouth after i toothbrush throughly before i sleep, it also gives me a bad taste in my mouth although it doesn't hurt when i scrape it off and there is nothign on my inner cheeks.

I have and ulcer on my bottom lip that has been there for almost a week now.

I constantly am farting, and sometimes get diarhea.

I wake up in the when sleeping at the exact time everyday, although not sweating or feeling extremly cold.

I have small pin head side bumps on my upper gums at the front which are raised and are grey in colour but don't cause me harm whatsoever, i also have a slightly bigger white dots in the left side of my gums that doesn't come off and doesn't cause me discomfort.

Also my mom has excema aswell she says its in our family and i also had excema as a child but went away for a few years and has just came back.

The excema started on my right leg very small but i repeatdly scratched it and soon it got bigger and is now on my bth my arms but is much more severe on my right but nonetheless it is mildand i belive it is going away.

Doctor do i have a chance of having HIV even though i have never had any sexual activity whatsoever and have never had drugs, or am i just a hyphocondriac obsessing about this virus?

Response from Dr. Horwath

You have never had sex and never used drugs. Therefore, you have no chance of having HIV.

The symptoms you have are due to anxiety. You should ask your parents to help you seek some treatment for your anxiety.
