elisa antigen+antibody 4,5 month
Aug 16, 2008
Dear expert, please give me advice.i made elisa test(antibody+antigen) after 4,5 month after dangerous sexual contact.
Whether it is necessary to retake the test after 4,5 months after dangerous sexual contact?
2 months the temperature 37* is raised, lymphas under ears are increased.can i have sex with my partner without condom,
or i must wait full 6 month and make elisa test?
Response from Dr. Horwath
With the current HIV antibody tests, the result you get after 3 months is more than 99% certain.
The important lesson to learn from this is: DON'T HAVE DANGEROUS SEXUAL CONTACT. The HIV antibody test will only tell you if you've been exposed. It does not prevent infection. Therefore, the most important thing you can do is to ALWAYS protect yourself, ALWAYS use condoms.
