		Treatment of pcp Feb 24, 2001 Hi! I am a doctor working in a rural hospital in south africa.i am would like to know if there is any proven benefit of iv bactrim over oral bactrim in the treatment of pcp in children.


Advertisement Response from Dr. Feinberg Not that I know of. Usually the IV route is chosen when the patient is too suck to reliably absorb oral antibiotics. If it's a mild case and absorption isn't an issue, then oral mediciation should work just as well.
